Forum
So you know that strange, strange video Carly found a couple of days ago? Well, she’s been digging hard and fast about where it came from, who posted it, which she’s fully admitted to me was a little bit easier than anticipated. I told her time and time again that it’s definitely not worth it to dig as far as she is currently, but she fully did not listen. But the more she tells me, the more she peels back the surface, the more interesting it becomes. I think I remember seeing a missing persons case on TV like, five years ago? The reason why I bring this up is because the guy who uploaded that video has a blog, yeah?. In fact, so does another guy from the same friend group. And there’s a fucking FORUM dedicated to just talking about something that happened to the second guy. It’s dated to late 2005, and Carly’s somehow got it in her head that I should archive said forum lest it gets lost to time. There were apparently a BUNCH of others but they suffered the aforementioned fate due to being hosted on sites that have since shut down. I told her that that’s crazy and that she should just do it, but she just fully did not listen to a word I said.
She gets into these moods when she’s found something she thinks is intriguing. Her current hypothesis is that somebody must have made some sort of strange art project based on the fact that another kid went missing and it’s mentioned in both blogs as the “crux”.
I asked her why she thinks it’s an art project. She said it’s because only the disappearance that was nationally televised stayed in the public consciousness (Mike’s). She then cut herself off, and just asked that I read up because of just how intriguing it all is. Worst part is, I can’t even contest that. It really is. From what little I’ve read of the first blog (SZ76), there’s… something else happening if you just peel back the layers.
”The people that still cared about the Needlepoint murder just wanted that kid’s blog. It’s fascinating, isn’t it? What’s happened to that kid? He’s changing into something…or somebody new.”
I asked her if she thinks it’s bullshit. ”Do you think it’s fake?”
“The blogs seem to have been credible, and who would make fake blogs to capitalize on a murder that hadn’t even happened yet?”
She’s right. “Do you think Mike’s murderer was the one running it?”
“What? Are you stupid? Of course not! It’d be way too obvious and not interesting at all! Damn. The longer I think about this, I start doubting if I know if it’s real or not. I just genuinely can’t tell. But it does sorta feel like whoever’s running it is just trying to fuck, I don’t know, capitalize on this really big murder or whatever. Eh? It’s fascinating so I’ll keep checking in. And on the off chance that it IS real, then I’ll be first in line to discover something exciting.”
I ended up agreeing to the forum archival thing. She's the kind of person that somehow always gets what she wants. Expect to see that relatively front-and-center. Something kind of does bother me about it. The kid that ran ShadowZengetsu76 spelled it wrong, and the “Zangetsu Case Forum” as it’s been dubbed corrects it. It probably doesn’t matter as much as I’m making it out to be. Whatever.
